Rev. Valerie W. Stultz District Superintendent
Canal District Superintendent, Valerie Stultz, is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. She earned an undergraduate degree at Ohio Wesleyan and The State University of New York. At The Methodist Theological School in Ohio she was awarded the degrees of Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Liturgical Arts. In 2004 she received her Doctor of Divinity in Leadership from Wesley Seminary at a service of celebration in the Washington National Cathedral in D.C. Valerie began her pastoral ministry at the Kilbourne UMC. She has also served as an associate pastor at the Mansfield Main Street UMC, pastor of Orrville Trinity UMC, pastor of The UMC of Berea and superintendent of the Mount Vernon District. Valerie’s personal mission is to connect people to Christ through preaching, teaching and spiritual guiding. She would delight in connecting with you.
Debbie Bryant, Administrative Assistant
Debbie began working with us in July 2011. She grew up on the West side of Cleveland, Ohio. She met her husband, Dan, in high school and they will be married 34 years this past August. They have two grown children, Andrew who is a first grade teacher, and Kayla who is in Medical School. Debbie and Dan live in Youngstown where Dan is the District Superintendent of the Mahoning Valley District. Before moving to Youngstown, Debbie worked as the Secretary/Communications Program Coordinator of the North Coast District for 12 years. Debbie and Dan lived in Akron from 1990-1997 where Dan served as pastor of South Arlington UMC. During that time Debbie worked as Funding Secretary of the Akron District Mission Committee and filled in for the administrative assistant. Debbie says she is glad to be back working with the Canal (Akron) District. Debbie and Dan have lived in Cleveland, Chevy Chase (MD), Akron, Cleveland Heights, Rocky River and Youngstown. Debbie will work at the Canal District office Monday through Thursday and work as the administrative assistant at the Centenary UMC in Youngstown on Fridays. She is actively involved in the Emmaus Community and took her walk just two years ago. She also enjoys scrapbooking.
